Blocklist-Update.sh is a script that I wrote to manage blocklists from bluetack etc to be used in conjunction with Transmission torrent downloader in Linux/MacOS. The script can be taylored to work with Qbittorrent as well, but the placement of the blocklists means you'd have to redirect the blocklist to go somewhere locally manageable as Transmission uses its own blocklist directory in .config. I believe there are about 10 lists there now. It works well for my needs. It can be ran weekly using crontab in standard user profile. To download: blocklist-update.sh To download the others: Github
On April 25, 2018, Opera Software launched their new concept browser.
This new browser would theoretically revolutionize the way mobile and
PC users browse the web. New technology that the team call Flow would
sync data from your PC browser directly to your phone without the use
of Opera sync services. Opera also has a new search feature called
Instant Search that relies on the keyboard shortcuts of Alt and Space
bar to activate. This search feature allows the user one search to
manager both web requests and tab look ups all in one. Instant Search
goes hand in hand with Flow as you can share and comb through tabs
and searches between PC and mobile device at the same time. Opera
also released a new mobile browser dubbed Touch as a continuation of
the Neon project.
The interface and other components work the same way in the PC
browser with the exception that in my case, the ad blocker got a
rework and reset itself somewhat. The only new things that I found
were the Flow icon in the address/search bar and the Instant Search
and Flow icons in the side panel. A further look at the blog post for
Opera shows that the side panel was enabled automatically for
everyone. I am just now testing this browser update as I recently
decided to update it onto my system as I was still running the older
version 52.0.2871.64.
Manjaro has not moved this new version to the Stable channel yet,
I’m sure they have their reasons, I went ahead and switched the
mirrors to the Testing branch a couple of days before it got updated
anyway. As best I can tell, everything seems to work well with this
new version. I
haven’t tested the Touch version yet, however, I am curious to see
how it works as well. The Android version has already been released,
I am unsure if the iOS version has made it to their respective app
store yet. Version 52 overall offers faster functionality of the ad blocker and other features such as animations. This wasn't really meant as an outright review of everything that is new, but some of the newer features seem kinda cool to me.
